St Mary’s Choir gave two marvellous performances of Duruflé’s Requiem, firstly in St Mary’s Wimbledon, on 15th October, and then in St Sepulchre’s Holborn, as part of the Brandenburg Choral Festival. The first concert also contained an hugely exciting rendition of Bach’s Jauchzet Gott by Colette Boushell, with outstanding trumpet playing from Imogen Hancock; the second included Mozart’s charming Missa Brevis in F (K.192) and Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir. The Duruflé sounded particularly exquisite in St Sepulchre’s, and we look forward to returning to the Brandenburg Festival.
